    What is Sixt fastlane?

    Sixt fastlane is a new mobility service from Sixt. It allows customers who have enabled a free fastlane upgrade in the Sixt app, to reserve, select, and unlock their fastlane cars with the Sixt app. You don´t need to go to a Sixt counter to pick up your key anymore; you can immediately proceed to your booked car and unlock it with the Sixt app.

    How does Sixt fastlane work?

    To be able to use Sixt fastlane, please download the Sixt app and sign-up, or, if already registered, sign-in to the app. After a successful login, you can activate your profile to the fastlane function free of charge. As soon as your registration has been accepted by us, we will inform you about the activation of your user account per e-mail. Thereafter, you can select and book your desired car in the app or online and you are all set to go.

    How can I hire Sixt fastlane cars?

    Option 1 (with an existing reservation): Select the desired fastlane car within the booked category 30 minutes before your rental starts or use the option of an upgrade. Follow the instructions of the app.
    Option 2 (with a spontaneous car rental): Check the availability of fastlane cars for the next 30 Minutes at the desired Sixt fastlane location. Select your car and follow the instructions of the app.

    Which car models are offered?

    Currently, premium cars of the Sixt fleet are offered. An overview of the cars at the time of reservation is available in the Sixt app.

    How can I contact the customer support?

    You can reach our customer support by calling +41 (0)848 884 444 (CHF 0.08/min. from the Swiss landline. Prices from mobile phone networks may vary).

    Who can register for Sixt fastlane?

    All customers can register for Sixt fastlane. To do so, please register yourself in the Sixt app or login to the app, go to your profile and click at "fastlane upgrade".

    How can I know that I have been accepted as a user?

    As soon as you have completed the in-app registration, we will check your application. After verifying the legitimacy of your registration, we will confirm the activation of your user account per e-mail.

    Do I need a membership card to unlock my car?

    You don’t need a membership card, only an iPhone with iOS 7 or above or an Android device with version 4.0.3 or above, and the Sixt app installed on your device.

    Which smartphone can I use to enable Sixt fastlane?

    You can use either an iPhone with iOS 7 or above or an Android device having version 4.0.3 or above.

    How can I cancel my fastlane contract?

    The Agreement shall have an indefinite term and may be terminated by either party on three months' prior notice to take effect at the end of any given month. Please contact the customer service to cancel your fastlane contract.

    Do I need a reservation to be able to rent a Sixt fastlane car?

    Yes, you always need a reservation. Subject to availability though, you may also reserve and rent a car spontaneously.

    How do I reserve a Sixt fastlane car?

    You can reserve a Sixt car online or in the Sixt app. Select the desired fastlane car within the booked category 30 minutes before your rental starts or use the option of an upgrade. Follow the instructions of the app.

    Can I change an existing reservation?

    If you wish to change your existing reservation, please cancel it first and then make a new reservation in the Sixt app.

    How can I cancel an existing reservation?

    You can cancel your reservation in the Sixt app. To do this, please open your Sixt app, click on your reservation on the start screen, and cancel your reservation on the following page.

    Which car will be reserved for me?

    You can select a car within your booked car category 30 minutes before your rental starts, or you can upgrade to a higher category.

    How can I change my credit card data?

    You can change your credit card details online at mySixt:
    1. Go to the mySixt webpage and log in to your account
    2. Click Booking profiles
    3. Click Edit booking profile
    4. Change your payment information

    The car cannot be unlocked.

    It may take up to 30 seconds before a car is unlocked. In case you cannot unlock your car, please make sure that the following requirements are fulfilled:
    - You have a reservation for this particular date and time at a Sixt fastlane station
    - You have reserved a car with a fastlane logo
    - You are standing next to your reserved car (Please check if the car´s license plate which is shown in the app matches with the one that is front of you)
    - Your mobile device has a working internet connection
    In case all these requirements are fulfilled and you still cannot unlock the car, please contact the call center to resolve the problem.

    What happens in the case of a late pickup?

    In case you are late for more than 30 minutes, your reservation will be automatically cancelled.

    Can I also use Sixt fastlane without a smartphone?

    No, Sixt fastlane functions only with a smartphone.

    The car cannot be locked.

    It may take up to 30 seconds before a car is locked. In case you cannot lock your car, please make sure that the following requirements are fulfilled:
    - You are standing next to the car you used
    - Your mobile device has a working internet connection
    - All doors, windows and the trunk are closed
    - You placed the car key back to the glove compartment
    In case all these requirements are fulfilled and you still cannot lock the car, please contact the call center to resolve the problem.

    How can I pick up my car?

    After accepting the rental contract, you can unlock the car with the fastlane funtion of the Sixt app. The car key is located in the glove compartment. The existing damage report will be displayed in your app. The car may be changed at a short notice before the pick up.

    Should I inspect the car for possible damages?

    Yes, you have to submit an assessment of possible damages via the Sixt app to Sixt. You can only unlock the car after that.

    How do I unlock the car?

    Open the Sixt app and go to your reservations. Follow the instructions of the app and in the end click on "Pick up vehicle". Enter your PIN, that you defined at the time of your registration. After your data has been sucessfully verified, the car will be unlocked. It may take up to 30 seconds before the car is unlocked.

    Where can I find the ignition key?

    You can find the ignition key in the glove compartment. Please place it back to the the glove compartment at the end of your rental.

    Can I add an additional driver?

    Currently you cannot register an additional driver in the Sixt App. However, you can register an additonaly driver by going to a Sixt station.

    What happens if I forget my vehicle unlock PIN?

    The car cannot be unlocked without your personal vehicle unlock PIN. Please call our customer support.

    How can I return my car?

    The return location will be shown in the app. Simply park the car there at the Sixt parking lot, leave the key in the glove compartment and lock the car with the Sixt app. You will immediately receive an overview of the estimated costs. You can also change the return location in the Sixt app. In this case, additional charges may apply. At Sixt locations with counters you can also return your car as usual via the key-safe or directly to a Sixt staff member.

    How do I lock the car?

    You can lock your car with your Sixt app.

    Is fuel included?

    No, fuel is not included.

    How can I get back the items forgotten in the car?

    How can I pay my bills?

    After the termination of the rental agreement your credit card will be debited with the outstanding amount. You will receive the invoice a few days later via e-mail.
